Gija II

Description

This silver ring was made with lost wax casting using ancient Japanese Mitsuro Hikime wax recipe and special modeling technique.

First I start making it  by warming up and mixing several ingredients in one cohesive mixture. After letting it cool down, trying it, maybe tweaking the recipe and remixing it again – finally I start to shape wax into the jewellery I imagine, which later on will be cast in silver or gold. Sometimes it forms as I want and sometimes the end result is a beautiful surprise even for me.

This ring is oxidised, so depending on the way you would wear it, in time it can get a bit lighter, because oxide can rub off or get even darker if it stays in your jewellery box. If you would like to oxidise it again or remove it completely – i’m happy to do it for you.
